A US-based medical doctor, Dr. Godwin Maduka, has described wife of late Biafran warlord, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu, as a cerebral and epitome of beauty saying that he was throwing his weight behind her as a way to pay tribute to the late Ikemba Nnewi.
Maduka made the statement during the tour of Orumba North and South by the aspirant to solicit their support during the party’s primary election.
He said that he veered into politics to help in emancipating the people of Orumba through quality representation.
The philanthropist per excellence while noting that Ojukwu stands for equity and fairness in politics observed that her representation of the zone at the upper legislative chambers will bring dividends of democracy which had eluded the area in the past.
He urged the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) delegates in Orumba North and South Local Government Areas to appreciate the role played by late Dim Chukwuemeka Ojukwu in the Igbo nation by supporting his wife’s senatorial ambition.
He said: “My message of support is from the founding fathers of the Igbo nation such as Zik, Okpara, Ironsi and Ekwueme. Bianca Ojukwu will not fail Anambra South if given the mandate.”
Addressing the people of Orumba, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu said her desire to serve stems from her desire to empower the people of the zone by helping them tap their economic resources and in so doing reduce their suffering.
She said: “I am seeking your support to ensure the efficient representation of Anambra South at the National Assembly.
“I will make a difference in politics through robust legislation to bring to my constituents what had been eluding them.”
The former Ambassador to Spain, however, hailed Dr. Maduka on his developmental strides in the area saying that he is a one-man government.
She called on other wealthy Anambra people all over the world to key in on his selfless developmental strides for the good of the state
Mrs. Ojukwu added: “Maduka having acquired distinction in his chosen career as a medical practitioner speaks volumes of his personality, and having graduated from Harvard shows he is a seasoned intellect that can man any aspect of human development. People should borrow a leaf from him.”
In his speech, a party stakeholder from Nnewi, Chief Orimili Na Asaa, urged the delegates to make a wise decision by supporting an aspirant would not dump APGA with their mandate.
On his part, the Chairman of APGA in Orumba North LGA, Mr. Obinna Ikwueto, expressed the hope that Bianca Ojukwu would change the tide of political representation in the zone even as his counterpart in Orumba South LGA, Mr. Oliver Thambo, described the aspirant as a thorough breed personality who would impact well in politics.
The two events at the Amaokpala Civic Center in Orumba North and the Orumba South Headquarters field in Umunze attracted a large crowd of APGA supporters including former majority leader of State Assembly, Chief Humphrey Nsofor.
