Heavy gunshot is reportedly rocking the bye-election holding in Rivers State.

In Ward 10 Port Harcourt Constituency III, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly (RVHA), was alleged to have led thugs to disrupt voting.

“PDP thugs are intimidating our agent, even seized his tag and the security men on ground are aiding the PDP thugs; they have even sent the agent out of the premise and threatened to kill him if he insists to come back. He is asking for help,” an official of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said.

The police later arrived and restored order.

In Ward 18 Unit 6, the Chairman, John Rose Orjiafor, said: “The PDP guys have hijacked the ballot box.”

In Ward 16 unit 7, both agents were said to be unreachable, while in Unit 7(Emenike) APC agents pleaded for the urgent deployment of armed policemen after one of the thugs reportedly brandished a gun in a bid to disrupt voting.
