Alleged replacement of names of 67 persons on the police candidates' list from Katsina is causing serious misgivings among applicants and parents.
Daily Trust gathered that trouble started when about 238 persons were shortlisted for medicals in Kano and upon returned, 67 names were allegedly removed and replaced with others who didn't even attend the medical screening alongside non-indigenes on the released Katsina list.
Some affected candidates said they were shocked to see names of persons who did not attend medicals and foreign names of non-indigenes on the list.
An affected candidate said, “We have successfully undergone the medical screening, subjected to various medical checkups at the Zone 1 Police headquarters, Kano.”
“I was really traumatized by the fact that names of 67 of us were removed from the final list and replaced with those of different people that didn’t even write for the examination,” he said
“If really we 67 among the 238 candidates failed the medical screening which is not possible, at least we deserve to be better enlightened just as Nigeria army usually do to disqualified candidates, Why will they introduce other people that are not in the pre-selected list including a non-indigene, an Igbo Man, he alleges
He said “Honestly we demand Justice, Katsina state government should look into this situation. Most of us are unemployed youths that has suffered much from the beginning of the recruitment exercise.” he said
Efforts to get the Special Adviser to the Governor on Employment Hussaini Karadua proved abortive but a top Director at the Employment Directorate confided in our reporter that the matter has been table to the state government and a complain letter has been written to police service commission for appropriate action.
