Former Speaker, Katsina state House of Assembly, Umar Yau Gwajo-Gwajo has raised concern over the power outage in Daura and neighbouring towns, calling on concern authorities to look into the matter assiduously.
Gwajo Gwajo, in a statement issued to newsmen, said the situation is becoming unbearable for the people, adding that ' life is becoming tedious especially during this Ramadan period as businesses are shutting down daily '
He appealed to all those concerned to, as a matter of urgency, work to restore power to the area saying that ' the heat period, coupled with lack of power, is further worsening the living condition of the electorate'
It could be recalled that Daura and it's neighbouring towns have been thrown into darkness for the past ten days following the collapse of a 132 electric tower supplying the town and environs.
Daily Trust gathered that the newly erected tower with a lifespan of 30 years belonging to the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) collapsed after a year installation.
Residents have been lamenting over the situation which they say has crumbled social and economic activities in the area. (Daily Trust)
