UNICEF has donated three pick-up trucks and two motorbikes to Anambra State Government to support Water, Sanitation/Hygiene and Wash (WaSH)-related activities in the state.
Receiving the keys after a closed door meeting with the Chief of WaSH section, UNICEF Country Office in Nigeria, Mr. Said Jurji, Governor Obiano explained that their discussion centered on WaSH activities in the state and what could be done differently, to improve on them.
In his speech, the Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano said that the state had set up a viable structure for effective implementation of the WaSH programmes.
He thanked UNICEF for the donations which he noted, will go a long way in strengthening monitoring and supervision of WaSH ongoing projects across the state.
The UNICEF Chief of WaSH section, Mr. Jurji in his remarks, expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded by the state under the initiative but pointed out that there is still room for improvement.
He thanked the Governor for his hospitality and support towards the WaSH programmes, promising that they will continue to partner the state across the specified areas.
