EbonyiI indigenes living in the Peoples Republic of China, today adopted Governor David Umahi as its sole candidate in the 2019 General Election in the State.

According to them, the continuity of the Governor in office for another 4 years would enable him (Umahi) to carry on with his good governance, transformation and total turnaround of the infrastructural development of the state.

Chairman of the group, Association of Ebonyi State Indigenes in the Peoples Republic of China, Mr Godwin Ude-Umanta, stated this during a press conference at Monabliss Hotels and Suites, Abakaliki.

“After all what we have seen these few days that we have been around, Association of Ebonyi Indigenes in the PRC hereby endorse and adopt Governor David Nweze Umahi as our governorship candidate come 2019 elections to carry on with his good governance, transformation and total turnaround of infrastructure in the entire state,” the statement partly read.

“It is also heart-warming to note that Ebonyi State has been greatly transformed in various facets by the Governor in so short a time to the admiration of all including his ardent critics.

“The psychological effect of this positive development is far reaching, so much so that it has instilled an irrepressible sense of pride in most of us in the Diaspora who hitherto were taunted by our friends from other states, who saw nothing good about Ebonyi but guinea warm, poverty and underdevelopment. “

The group later visited some orphanage homes in Abakaliki where they made donations of various items including food, industrial products among others.
