A training for pastors on the 21st century evangelism has been slated for February 20, 2018.

The training which is scheduled to hold in Lagos under the auspices of Freedom Network of Pastors, will centre on methods of evangelism in the 21st century.

Freedom Network of Pastors is a network run by Pastor Tony Rapu, senior pastor and founder of This Present House, Lekki.

According to Steve Nduka, senior pastor of God Bless Nigeria, an expression of This Present House, the training will expose pastors to the method of evangelism in the present day.

“Our senior pastor is organising a training for pastors not necessarily pastors of our church but other churches on the need of evangelism. This will be the second training this year.

“This training has become necessary because the present day situation need a method of evangelism that meets the 21st century. It is for pastors in the city who are interested in spreading the word of the lord as indicated in Matthew 28:19 which states that we should make disciples of all nations,” Nduka told News Express in an interview in the church Lagos office on Tuesday.

This present House church is a new generation church which has about six expressions scattered around Lagos. The church uses the word ‘expression’ to depict the branches created from the parent church. They are: Water Brook Church; Holy Trinity Church; The Green House, Mount Zion Church, Potters House and God Bless Nigeria Church.

“At This Present House, we believe that the gospel of Christ should be taken to all and sundry especially those in the slumps.

“For more than a decade we have been constantly visiting the slumps of Ijora, Alaka, Iwaya among other areas to improve the lives of the people while preaching Jesus Christ to them. This is because we are driven by the passion that the gospel is not only for the rich, but for the people in the slumps too and it should be taken to them, the cleric said.

Continuing he added: “We are not saying we can eradicate poverty totally, but we will continue to set example so other people can replicate what we do in their various communities for the good of the society and so that the name of our lord Jesus Christ can be glorified”.
