Dust haze conditions, reduced visibility to prevail today, says NiMet

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition on Friday, January 5, 2018:

NORTHERN STATES: Dust haze conditions with visibility range of 1 – 3km and localised visibility of less than 1,000m in some places are anticipated over this region throughout the forecast period. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 26 – 33℃ and 10 – 15℃ respectively.

CENTRAL STATES: Dust haze conditions with visibility range of about 2 – 5km are expected over this region throughout the forecast period. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 25 – 34℃ and 10 – 20℃ respectively, except over Jos where 25℃ /09℃ day and night temperatures are expected.

SOUTHERN STATES: Dust haze conditions are anticipated over the region with the visibility range of 2 – 5km over the inland cities while visibility range of 1 – 3km are expected over the coastal cities all through the forecast period however, cloudy skies are expected to prevail over Calabar and Eket in the afternoon/evening hours. Day and Night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 32 – 34℃ and 15 – 24℃ respectively.
