A 64-year-old car jacker whose name was given as Monday Uche was on Friday arrested by the Police in Anambra State while allegedly attempting to sell a Toyota Tacoma stolen in Owerri, Imo State.
The suspect was arrested alongside with two others, Sunday Ofoekwe (42) and Joseph Chikezie (60), believed to be his accomplices.
Parading the suspects at the Police Headquarters Amawbia, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Nkeiruka Nwode said the suspects conspired with one Samuel Okowa and Johnson Okowa, still at large, and removed one Toyota Tacoma with registration No: KGS 737 KS from its parking lot in a church in Owerri, Imo state.
Nwode said the suspects were arrested at Nnobi in Idemili South Local Government Area of the state after they were tracked down by the state Police Command.
While disclosing that the suspects had confessed to the crime, the PPRO said that they were assisting the Police with useful information, adding that they would soon be handed over to the Imo State command for prosecution.
