Ghana will face West African arch rivals Nigeria in an Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) semi-final on Wednesday after Kwabina Aduseilast night scored a penalty to send the defending champions, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) packing from the championship holding in South Africa.

The only goal came off the booth of Kwabina Adusei after 68 minutes. The spot kick was awarded after DRC’s Kimwika handled the ball in the area.

The Black Stars will now face the Super Eagles of Nigeria, who on Saturday came from 0-3 in the first half to beat Morocco 4-3 in their thrilling quarter-final clash.

In the other quarter-final played yesterday, Libya upset the odds when they beat Gabon 4-2 in a penalty shoot-out after the match finished 1-1 following 120 minutes of action. Libya will face Zimbabwe, who had earlier on Saturday beaten favourites Mali 2-1.

The competition, which started January 11, ends this Sunday, February 1.
