We don’t hide criminals in our midst — Delta Police Commissioner

The Commissioner of Police Delta State, Mr. Zanna Ibrahim, has stated that the Nigeria Police will no longer hide criminals among them. The Commissioner said this during a media parley with The Indigenous and Asaba Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Asaba, the state capital.

He noted that the paradigm shift to community policing is to see men as their friends and create a mutual relationship with elders and stakeholders in our society with the ability to display equity and fairness in their relationship.

“The members of the public have to relate with police because they are not magicians to do the work alone,” he stated, pleading with the press to help police in reporting their activities.

He thanked the members of the fourth estate of the realm for finding time to pay the command a visit with the aim of providing accurate report and eliminate crime in the society.

The Commissioner also briefed the press on the activities of some criminals in Delta State that terrorising the environs on kidnapping, arm robbing, cultism among others.

The Chairman of Indigenous Correspondents Chapel, Comrade Barth Ozah, with his team thanked the Police Commissioner for granting them audience, adding that the press in Delta State will not relent in disseminating information on criminal issues in the state as well as useful information that will help the Police in their duties.
