The General Overseer of Christ Assets Church, Prophet David Sodeke, has observed that in this critical time in the history of this country, Nigeria needs to be penitent and return unto God for pardon and spiritual cleansing.

Prophet Sodeke made this declaration during a chat with Journalists at the Church headquarter in Iba, Lagos in preparation for the annual Holy Ghost Feast scheduled for August 13th – 19th in the Church auditorium.

He remarked that “our sins had reached crescendo before God”, calling on the entire nation to turn to God in repentance.

He raised hope that the economy would bounce back strongly, stressing that this would happen through genuine repentance and vigorous prayers.

“We have sinned against God as a people. The level of corruption is unimaginable. But we thank God that he is merciful. When we call on him in repentance, he will forgive us and heal our land. And our economy will bounce back strongly again,” he stated.

He explained that the theme of this year’s programme is ‘When the Comforter Comes’ adding that the essence of the six-day event is for spiritual awakening and empowerment of the church members.

He recalled that testimonies abound about what God had done in the past through this programme assuring that this year’s edition would be great.

“This is a special programme in the history of our Church. God through this programme has healed so many people. God had opened the wombs of some barren women and today they are mothers of children. God had wrath diverse miracles through this programme any time we gather together like this. And I know God cannot deny himself because his power has not changed. I know he will do much more than before this time around,” he stressed.
