Asaba, capital of Delta State, has been rated as the poorest in Nigeria. Comrade Sheriff Mulade, CEO of CEPEJ, stated this during a meeting with the executive members of Indigenous Correspondents Chapel in Warri.

According to him, the past government had personal hatred for the state capital. He called on political appointees of the current administration to help Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to deliver laudable projects.

He added that those in position should think of how to help people in the state not only their families and to execute durable projects.

Sheriff spoke on how politicians treat journalists limiting them to potential beggars. He advised journalists to come up with blueprint because no society can survive without the help of media.

Sheriff further called on the leadership of Nigeria to be proactive and do the needful.

He concluded that the Ministry of Environment should look out for how to curb the flooding in the state and create security for all not for one.
