A total of 1,664 pilgrims from Kaduna State have so far been airlifted to Saudi Arabia.
A statement issued on Friday by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Yunusa Muhammad Abdullahi, said that the fifth flight with 549 pilgrims from Kagarko, Kudan, Kubau and Makarfi local government areas left Kaduna International Airport Friday.
He quoted the Overseer of the Board, Imam Hussaini Sulaiman Tshoho, as saying that no fewer than 6,600 pilgrims from Kaduna State would perform the 2017 pilgrimage.
“The sixth batch of the pilgrims is expected to be airlifted today (Friday). The board had made all necessary arrangements to ensure the security and comfort of the pilgrims,” he added.
