Frontline rights group, the United Action for Democracy (UAD), has thrown its weight behind the anti-government rally being spearheaded by music superstar Innocent Idibia, alias Tuface or 2Baba.

UAD National Convener Gabriel Ojuma Esq. told News Express on Friday that the rally, scheduled for Monday, February 6, in Lagos and Abuja, must hold. Comrade Ojuma, who coordinated the first major rally against the Muhammdu Buhari administration in Lagos on January 16, 2017, dismissed the opposition to the rally by the Nigeria Police.

“The era of impunity is over! It cannot be tolerated!” the fiery activist declared, stressing that the police has no right to interfere with a peaceful protest.

He insisted that Nigerians have the right to gather to express their anger over the worsening condition of living in the country, saying: “Nigerians have been dying of hunger. We call on Nigerians to come out en masse to express their views.”
