The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has again charged stakeholders in the education sector to sustain the progress and development of the sector in the state.

Amosun gave the charge at the 25th/26th Convocation of the 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 academic sessions of the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, yesterday.

He stated that qualitative education is a major priority of his administration, adding that the efforts are beginning to yield great benefits.

Noting that the university is now ranked high among higher institutions nationwide, the governor commended the development partners and management of the Institution for the great achievement recorded in spite of the challenges in the past.

Amosun enjoined the graduands to be good ambassadors of the university and the state at large wherever they find themselves in future, while also congratulating them for their perseverance.

Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor Saburi Adesanya, commended the efforts of the state government in the Education Sector and disclosed that the OOU was adjudged the Best State University in 2016, which he attributed to the support and leadership quality of the governor.

Adesanya, who also stated that the institution has established the tradition of finishing the academic session as scheduled, advised the graduands to bring to bear the impacted skills and techniques learnt in the school in their future endeavour.

Speaking on behalf of the graduands, the Best Graduating Student, Dr. Alabi Oluwagbenga of the College of Medicine, charged his colleagues to ensure that they inculcate the “can do spirit” and be good ambassadors of the school.
