RIWAMA Sole Administrator, Bro. Felix Obuah.
The Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Bro. Felix Obuah, has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to contractors handling the East-West, NTA, Onne roads to clean up the area or have their contracts terminated.
Bro. Obuah, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Friday, said the deadline given to the contractors was necessitated by heaps of refuse currently dotting the East West, NTA, Onne roads and their environs.
He said that RIWAMA can no longer condone laxity from contractors who would not take their jobs seriously.
The Sole Administrator regretted that “these unwelcome actions of non-performing contractors are sabotaging the efforts of Governor Nyesom Wike, who is doing everything possible to ensure a safe, clean and healthy environment in the state.”
Bro. Obuah also warned all contractors doing business with the agency to be alive to their responsibilities, adding that RIWAMA would not relent in its resolve to restore the Garden City status of the state.
