Philip Shuaibu, the running mate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, on Sunday, declared emphatically that APC would win the governorship election in Edo State because it has demonstrated that money meant for governance should be use for the development of the state.

Shuaibu said that unlike in the past when money meant for governance was being used for birthday party by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Governor Adams Oshiomhole, has let the people know that Edo is viable through development of infrastructure.

He made the declaration in Jattu, Etsako Local Government Area of Edo State, while speaking with journalists in Asaba.

Shuaibu said, “Oshiomole has changed the face of Edo State. Godwin Obaseki and I will sustain the legacy and improve on it by making sure that the state would be the hub of development and agricultural products.”

He said that he would sacrifice anything to ensure that the people of the state enjoy dividends of democracy as he was doing as a member of the state House of Assembly.

“As a member of the State Assembly, I fought and moved critical motions that changed the face of the state to the level that it is today.  I fought the battle to the extent that I have to spill my blood on the floor of the house to make sure that State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) came into being in the state.”

He also noted that If not because of that struggle the major success recorded by APC government would not have been possible because in the first year of Oshiomhole, the PDP and the leadership of the House under their control frustrated every development move.

Shuaibu assured the people that he would spearhead the struggle to ensure that Edo State leaves the underdevelopment level of decay on infrastructure to a level that roads, schools and other infrastructure are put in place.

He, however, called on the people to vote for the APC come September 28, adding that the people should not go back to Egypt because they have seen that Edo State is viable through APC.
