Former Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, has dismissed rumours making the rounds on social media saying that he is dead as false and mischievous.

Obiano in a personal message to the public assured Ndi Anambra, friends, and well-wishers that he is “alive, hale, hearty, and in excellent health.

While noting that he remains grateful to God for sustaining him, the former governor expressed concern that some individuals still derive satisfaction from spreading unfounded claims.

He said: "The motive behind the falsehood remains unclear. I will continue to rise above such acts.

"I appreciate those who reached out to me with calls, messages, and prayers following the rumour.

“To everyone who showed concern, your love and goodwill mean more than words can express. The public should completely disregard the speculation."

Obiano in the statement personally signed by him dated November 14, 2025 reaffirmed his commitment to staying focused and guided by God’s grace.
