Babatunde Olaogun, popular Oyo grassroots political mobiliser, has officially thrown his hat into the ring for the Oyo State House of Assembly, representing Ogbomosho North Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC). The declaration event, held Thursday at the APC Secretariat in Ogbomoso North Local Government Area, was a grand affair, attended by party bigwigs, including the APC Senatorial Chairman, Ogbomoso North APC Chairman, Ward Chairman, Abogunde Ward Chairman, and the APC Secretary in Ogbomoso North Local Government.

Olaogun, a Microbiologist, Public Administrator, and entrepreneur, brings a wealth of experience to the table. He's a graduate of Microbiology from Lagos State University, holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, and owns Royalty Lounge and Suites, Ikeja. He's also the Lead Visioner at The Royalty Foundation and convener of Royalty Givings, an initiative focused on community development.

His vision for Ogbomoso North includes:

- Wealth Creation: Supporting fresh ideas and injecting new opinions into the political process

- Youth Empowerment: Empowering the youth to drive development

- Effective Representation: Leveraging his governance experience to drive development

- Healthcare: Offering free healthcare services to women, particularly those battling diabetes and hypertension

Olaogun's declaration has been well-received by stakeholders, who see him as a strong contender with grassroots connections. “His experience in governance and community service makes him an ideal candidate for the job,” one stakeholder said.
