The Idemili branch of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) in Anambra State has criticised President Mohammadu Buhari’s style of fighting graft, saying that it is lopsided and shrouded in bias.

The group made the accusation shortly after rising from the branch general meeting held yesterday within the court premises at Ogidi.

According to the Chairman, Barr. Samuel Olisaemeka Chukwukelu, “There is corruption everywhere not only in the judiciary, the entire system is corrupt and that is why I am fully in support of fighting corruption but my advice is that it should be fought holistically.

“It should not be lopsided, I know and still stand to defend it that the corruption Mr. President is talking about is lopsided.

“If he wants to fight corruption, he should start from the beginning, he should not decide where to start or where not to start but face it as it is and not when his brother is involved in certain corrupt practices, he will close his eyes and when another person’s brother is involve he will be pursued.”

While reiterating his resolve to complete the construction of the bar center in order to ensure professionalism in the bar, Chukwukelu also called on President Buhari not to be choosy as to whom to fight and whom not to fight.

On Governor Obiano’s performance he said that the governor has done well especially in the areas of security and agriculture saying that he cannot be good in all ramifications but has shown he is capable in a short time.

He said” “Unfortunately, the people surrounding him, his aides and commissioners, most of them are corrupt and do not allow him to see reality, to know the yearnings of the people and that is the area which if I have the opportunity to talk to him, I will point out because he believes entirely on what they tell him and as such he unknowingly will be offending the masses.
