Abductors of Mr John Odogun, the Chief Security Officer of the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, Delta State, are asking for N30 million ransom before they could free him.
Odogun was kidnapped on Sunday by five armed gunmen along the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Complex road in Ekpan, Uvwie Local Government Area of the state, on his way to church at about 6.05am.
Independent gathered that the hoodlums contacted a member of his church, Rainbow Christian Assembly, headed by a Ghanaian Pastor where they disclosed the sum late Monday evening.
The source added that relatives begged the abductors to reduce the amount requested as ransom, but the captors vehemently refused before ending the call.
The source said that the gunmen had not called again since the late Monday.
But a security operative and member of the anti-kidnapping squad who do not want their names in the print told Independent that security agents in the state have intensified efforts to rescue the victim unhurt .
SP Celestina Kalu, spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, who confirmed Odogun’s abduction, said the victim would soon be rescued. (Independent)
