NiMET predicts rain showers across Nigeria but cloudy conditions and localised thunderstorms in the North

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about Nigerian weather condition for today, Thursday, June 23, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Cloudy conditions are expected with prospects of localised thunderstorms over the region during the afternoon/evening hours. Day time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 33-34 o C.

CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy conditions are expected over the region with likelihood of localised showers over Jos and northern part of Abuja during the morning hours. The region will experience localised thunderstorms during the afternoon/evening period. Day time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 30-32 o C.

SOUTHERN STATES: The coastal cities like Eket, Calabar, Yenagoa and Benin, will likely witness some morning rains. There are prospects of localised thunderstorms over the region during the afternoon/evening hours. Day time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 28-

31o C.
