Today’s Weather: Expect cloudy conditions and localised thunderstorms —NiMET

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Tuesday, May 10, 2016:

NORTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are expected with prospects of localised thundery activities over Maiduguri, Potiskum and Nguru during the afternoon/ evening hours. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 40 - 42oC.

CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy conditions are expected with prospects of localised   thunderstorms over Abuja, Minna, Bida, Ibi, Lafia and Makurdi during the early morning hours. Places like Yola, Gombe, Bauchi and Jalingo will experience localised thunderstorms during the afternoon/evening hours. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 34 - 35oC.

SOUTHERN STATES: Cloudy conditions are expected with chances of thunderstorms over Calabar and Eket during the morning. Lagos, Ibadan, Akure, Oshogbo, Port Hacourt, Yenagoa, Eket, Calabar, Awka and Enugu are expected to be under the influence of localised thunderstorms during the afternoon/evening hours. Maximum temperatures for the day are expected to be in the range of 31- 33oC.
