Anambra State PDP Chairman, Mr Ejike Oguebego, has warned any factional group in the state to steer clear of any activity in the name of the party or face arrest.

Mr Oguebego said this during the general meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the State Secretariat in Awka, the Anambra State capital in southwest Nigeria.

He maintained that the party, as presently constituted under his leadership, would not allow factions and anybody engaging in any activity under any guise on behalf of the party outside his leadership.

The party chairman also announced that the congresses of the party from ward to zonal levels would commence from April 23 to May 14.

He asked the PDP members at the National Assembly to vacate the seats honourably in accordance with the order of the Supreme Court.

In their remarks, the Anambra PDP Secretary, Chucks Okoye, and the State Woman Leader, Lovina Ebe, said that the party members would swing into action to mobilise their members since the dates for a fresh congress had been announced.

This followed a meeting held by some members of the party, appealing to the Oguebego-led PDP group to embrace peace and allow the party members at the National Assembly to continue with their representation in the interest of peace and collective gain of the party. (Channels TV)
