The Jamatu Nasril Islam (JNI) has ordered the immediate suspension of recruitment into the Nigeria Aid Group of Islam, to avert infiltration by Boko Haram members.

This is contained in a statement by the group’s National Secretary, Dr M G Halililu issued to newsmen on Wednesday in Kaduna.

It said that the measure followed recent alert by the Nigerian Army that the insurgents planned to camouflage as members of the aid group to attack innocent persons.

In view of this, “the Jamatu nasril Islam hereby directs all its branches nationwide to suspend the recruitment of new members into the organisation until further notice.”

The statement also directed the branches to update their membership register and apply to the national secretariat for new identity cards.

It stated that members of the aid group must at all times go about with their identity cards, and carry along with them duty log book while in the field.

“Be on the alert and report any suspicious movement to security formations nearest to you.” (NAN)
