The Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Wuse II, Abuja, Shuaibu Usman, has ordered that the Department of State Security (DSS) must unfailingly produce Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the Leader/Director of Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) and Radio Biafra, before him next week Monday, November 23. He gave the order at the resumed hearing of the case filed against Kanu by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Chief Magistrate Shuaibu Usman had expected Mazi Kanu to be produced before his court in keeping with his earlier order but DSS failed to do so. The DSS signified its intention to file some applications likely to amend the charges against the Radio Biafra boss but Chief Magistrate Shuaibu Usman disallowed it from doing so, ruling that no further proceedings should continue on the matter unless Kanu is produced in his court.

News Express reports that the court had on October 19, 2015 granted Kanu client bail in the most stringent conditions but DSS refused to release him after meeting the conditions and also effused to produce him before the court despite several orders in this regard. This has led to protests across the South-East and South-South, as well as in some other countries.
