Top Nollywood movie octopus, Don Pedro Obeseki, recently opened up on the magic of his envious movie script writing, directing and production which sizable members of frontline script writers, producers and directors confessed that they would be happy to learn.
In a telephone chat, the former UNIBEN Senior Lecturer in the Department of Theater Arts and a front-seat occupier in the script writing, production and directing concern, maintained that the problem with some Nollywood star script writers, producers and directors was not learning their acts painstakingly, thereby not learning properly the magic of the trade which can fetch them instant applause or ridicule by those who really know the business well and can teach and talk about script writing, production and directing business with obvious authority and practicability.
“I can tell anybody who cares that my learning process drew blood from me. During my time, it was quit excruciating. But then, I knew deep down in me, that what happened to me was necessary and important; if not, I would not have been a master and model in these three aspects of which I am today an authority in all”, he submitted.
The top octopus in Nollywood lamented over the disturbing standard of script writing, production and directing among practitioners, advising them to invest in their acts now “before it is pretty late, or the up-comers who have learnt their acts painstakingly well, may not be ready to queue patiently behind them for so long, before forcing them to quit the stage unceremoniously”.
