The Code of Conduct Bureau in Kano State said on Friday that 95 political office holders have returned completed assets declaration forms.
Alhaji Umar Saulawa, the Director of the bureau in the state, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that CCB issued 114 forms to the politicians from January to date.
He said that 19 people were yet to return their completed forms, attributing the positive response to the political will of the current administration on asset declaration.
Saulawa, however, urged the remaining officers yet to return their completed forms to do so, to avoid possible prosecution.
The director commended Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje for issuing a circular, which directed commissioners and other government officials to declare their assets.
“Our vision is honesty, transparency and accountability in public service.”
According to him, the bureau would soon begin verification of the assets of the public office holders who have submitted their document.
“I hope all those that have not yet returned their completed forms will to do so as soon as possible.”
He appealed to public officers to give honest declaration to avoid prosecution. (NAN)
