Ahead of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Senatorial primary election for Anambra South Senatorial District, critical stakeholders and vast majority of members of APGA Ihiala Zone, have warned the party against fielding the Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s brother Ben Nwankwo as its Senatorial candidate.

According to a prominent stakeholder of the APGA in Ihiala Chief Emeka Igwebuike, it is the turn of Ihiala zone to represent the Senatorial District at the Red Chambers Abuja. Chief Igwebuike, and other notable party stalwarts seriously frowned at the selfish plot by the Old Aguata Union to produce the APGA flag bearer for the Senatorial race.

“We have heard the rumour that Ben Nwankwo is laying claims as the party consensus candidate, how?

“I repeat without mincing words that any attempt to impose him as the party candidate will

spell doom for APGA as far as my constituency is concerned.”

“Old Aguata Union has produced the governor, and will amount to gross injustice if they also pocket the Senatorial seat. The Ihiala zone has not produced a Senator in the past 24years, and should be supported as a matter of fairness and equity to produce the next Senator. We know what is going on at the government circles, and will let the cat out of the bag if the party decides to forge ahead with this impunity. The court of public opinion is there to clean up any mess that anyone may want to do to circumvent this truth.

“All APGA senatorial delegates are called upon in the spirit of ‘Onye aghana nwanneya’ to resist these power grabbers bent on destroying the APGA brotherhood,” Igwebuike said

The APGA Senatorial primary elections have been slated to take place this weekend.
