Abia State Government says it has concluded plans to sponsor a 40-man delegation from Abia business community on a trade mission to Turkey.
Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Chijioke Nwakodo, disclosed this while interacting with a seven-man team of investors from Turkey in his office in Umuahia.
Nwakodo said that government would also be interested in equipping leather and garment manufacturers with necessary exposures that would enhance these sectors and assured the investors of the State Government’s readiness to partner them in areas of developing an industrial city, Diaspora village in leather and garment.
Earlier in his speech, the leader of the Turkish delegation, Mr Abdullah Basci, who is the Chairman of Konsaid-Konya Businessmen and Industrialists Association, Turkey, said that they were in the state to interact with the Abia trade mission delegates to Turkey and identify their areas of business concern before their arrival in Turkey, adding that they were ready to invest in Abia in the areas of developing an industrial city, the leather and garment industries.
Highlight of the visit was an interaction between the Turkish group and the Abia business community as well as meeting with the private-public partnership and investment promotions team of the government.
