Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, this afternoon announced the retirement of Ibrahim Balarabe Musa as Permanent Secretary Youth, Sports and Culture. Mallam Ibrahim is the son of the iconic former governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa.

A statement by El-Rufia’s Special Assistant, Media and Publicity, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, also announced the retirement of Adamu Makadi (Permanent Secretary, Local Government), and Ishaku K. Shekari (Accountant-General). They were directed to hand over to the most senior director in their ministries.

The statement described the retirement of the trio as being part of the ongoing reorganisation of Kaduna’s public service for greater effectiveness. It said that the governor has expressed the appreciation of the state for the services of the retired officials.

The statement also announced the appointment of a new Accountant-General in the person of Umar Hassan Waziri.

Aruwan said that “the new Accountant-General is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He studied Accounting at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and graduated in 1995. Born in Zaria in 1971, Waziri has worked with Shell Petroleum Development Company as internal auditor.
