Plans are underway for Content Marketing Conference & Training (CMCT), a two-day intensive programme that intends to bring proven experts and practitioners together, for Content Marketing knowledge transfer, exchange of ideas and networking opportunities. Tagged CMCT2015, the event is an initiative of Candella Content Services, a Lagos-based Content Marketing consultancy. It will be the first of its kind in Nigeria, as well as in Africa, and is billed to hold on November 4 and 5 at The Sojourner, GRA Ikeja, Lagos, with the theme, ‘The A to Z of Content Marketing’.
CMCT 2015 has been conceived to give participants the golden opportunity to learn from global experts towards harnessing the marketing wisdom in using Content Marketing for today’s businesses, said Ofuma Agali, Content Director at Candella.
While explaining the rationale, Agali said CMCT2015 is a platform that intends to help Nigerian marketing and business professionals to learn the new rules of the game of attracting and retaining customers for profitable actions. “A lot of changes are going on in the business landscape globally, and these are causing a lot of changes in marketing practice as well. Content Marketing is increasingly gaining traction and recording success because of its effective and less-expensive way of getting into the heart of today’s consumers,” he said. According to Agali, two lead trainers will be on ground for the programme. One of them is Bill Belew, a US-based Professor of Content and Social Marketing, Professional Speaker and Author; while the other is Steve Cartwright, an Australia-based Digital Business Growth Expert and Global Top Ten Content Marketing Influencer. Agali said four others will join these two in speaking capacities. They are Temi Abimbola, former Associate Professor of Marketing at Warwick University, UK and presently an Advisor to the First Vice President/Chief Operating Officer at African Development Bank; and Colin Morris, former Creative Director at Lowe Lintas, Lagos and presently a South Africa-based expatriate Creative Communications Director, Writer and Digital Strategist, as well as two others.
“While not a very new marketing concept, Content Marketing has been powered up by various technological innovations around the globe, giving rise to information empowerment for consumers. This is creating the next era of marketing, which some experts call the seventh era or the era of experiences,” Agali explained. He said the CMCT2015 is a great opportunity for participants to become citizens of the business future.
