The funeral of former military Governor of Imo and Lagos states, Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu will hold on October 16, the Central Burial Committee announced yesterday.

Until his death, according to the committee, the late Naval chief, was a fine officer and gentleman, a nationalist, chieftain of NADECCO (where he was a Chairman at a time), a courageous and pro-democracy activist that led from the front and fought for justice, equity and adherence to rule of law, an unapologetic and proud Igbo son that virulently supported and fought for Igbo cause within the context of a united Nigeria, a strong player in the maritime industry , an outstanding humanist, detribalised Nigerian and a good family man.
