Health Ministry applauds COHESTI Staff, students on level of compliance with COVID-19 prevention guidelines

The Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) of the Ekiti State Ministry of Health has commended Management, Staff and Students of the College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti (COHETI) for adhering to COVID-19 preventive protocols.

Leader of the Ijero Local Government EOC team, Dr Adebona, who gave the commendation while on advocacy visit to the College today, hinted that it had become necessary to sensitize people at the grassroots on the severity of the Delta variant of Coronavirus.

While restating the importance of being vaccinated against Coronavirus,  an official of the State Ministry of Health, Mrs Caroline Bakare, added that adhering to COVID-19 prevention guidelines such as; proper use of nose masks, social distancing, and regular use of hand sanitizers will go a long way in making one immune to the disease.

Responding, the Deputy Provost, Mr Kayode Abolarin, applauded the team for deeming it fit to extend the sensitization exercise to COHETI.

He further pledged management’s commitment to improving on the sensitization mechanism of the Institution, towards making Ekiti State COVID-19 free.

Mr. Abolarin had earlier noted the College Management’s constitution of a COVID-19 prevention, monitoring and compliance committee, who apart from sensitizing the College Community on the need to obey all COVID-19 prevention protocols, also ensure effective use of hand sanitizers and Veronica buckets already provided in the institution’s premises.
