Gov. Udom Emmanuel assigns portfolios to new commissioners, special assistants

Twenty Commissioners and two Special Assistants sworn in on Monday by Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State were yesterday assigned their portfolios.

The Commissioners and their portfolios are, Barrister Uwemedimo Thomas Nwoko, Attorney-General/Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Akan Okon, Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Mathew Nathan Ekaette, Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, while Mr. Ephraim Akparawa Inyang-eyen is the Commissioner for Works.

Others are Prince Godwin Ntukude, Commissioner for Transport, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Simon Akpan is the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Dominic Ukpong, Commissioner for Health. Rt. Hon. Uwem Ita Etuk, Commissioner for Lands/Town Planning, Mr. Enobong Emmanuel Uwah, Commissioner for Housing and Urban Renewal. Dr. Iniobong Ene Essien,

Commissioner for Environment and Mineral Resources, while Mr. Aniekan John Umanah, comes back as the Commissioner for Information and Communications. Rt. Hon. Victor Etim Antai, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barrister Emmanuel Moses Enoidem is the Commissioner for Investment, Commerce & Industry.

Rt. Hon. (Barrister) Ekong Sampson, Commissioner for Rural Development, Dr. Emmanuel Ating Onwioduokit, Commissioner for Economic Planning and Development. Dr. (Mrs) Elizabeth Donald Obot, Commissioner of Science and Technology, Otuekong Emmanuel Udo Ibiok, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Glory Emmanuel Edet, Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Sir. Monday Ebong Uko, Commissioner for Youths and Sports, while Engr. Etido Inyang is the Commissioner for Special Duties.

The two special advisers and their assigned portfolios are: Mr. Enyinna Ekpenyong, Bureau of Labour, Productivity and Manpower Planning, while Rt. Hon. Anietie Sunday Etuk is the Special Adviser for the Bureau of Political and Legislative Affairs.

The statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Udom Emmanuel, Mr. Ekerete Udoh, says the postings of the commissioners and the special assistants take immediate effect.

News Express reports that the commissioner and the special assistant nominees were screened and approved last Friday by the State House of Assembly.
