Okotie-Eboh’s faction says it’s the soul of Delta APC

The Chief Adolo Okotie-Eboh-led faction of the troubled All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has described itself as the “soul of the party in the state” and most of those not in its fold as representing “carcasses of various moribund and failed political structures in the state.”

Spokesman of the Okotie-Eboh faction of Delta APC, Comrade Alex Eyengho, made this declaration in Warri Thursday, while addressing journalists in reaction to a statement credited to Mr. Jesutega Onokpasa, an APC Chieftain in the Prophet Jones Erue/Olorogun O’tega Emerhor’s faction.

He said: “Our attention has been drawn to a media statement credited to one Jesutega Onokpasa who claimed to be an APC Chieftain in Delta State. This joker of a fellow said Chief Okotie-Eboh has been expelled from the party for dragging the party to court. He also claimed that the hitherto executives of the party led by Prophet Jones Erue which was on April 30, 2015 dissolved and described as illegal by Justice Obi of the State High Court, Asaba, had since appealed the judgment.

“We thank God that this Onokpasa fellow was smart enough not to deny the valid judgment delivered by Justice Obi. It may be beneficial to educate this latter day fair-weather APC member that until Justice Obi reverses his judgment, a stay of execution of the judgment granted, and or a higher court nullifies the judgment in its entirety, the position of the law is that there is no state executive body of APC in Delta State as at today.

“Let me reiterate that there is a subsisting court judgment which has sacked these jokers from office and indeed ordered for a fresh congress to elect new and substantive executives for APC in Delta State. Until that is done, anybody that parades his or herself as Chairman, Secretary or any other position in a non-existent APC Delta State executive body is doing so in gross violation and disobedience of a valid and subsisting court judgment, and thus liable to be committed to prison for contempt of court.

“It is also important to make it manifestly clear that neither Chief Okotie-Eboh nor any member of his faction has been expelled by the party. There is a clear procedure enshrined in the APC constitution for expelling erring members. The party leadership at the national level knows this too well.

“Onokpasa may not know this since he has no historical base as a member of the three (ACN, CPC and ANPP) Legacy Parties, the New PDP, part of APGA and DPP that came together to form the APC. Chief Okotie-Eboh was the Chairman of ACN in Delta State, a position he held for over three years until the mergers and formation of APC. Where was this Onokpasa fellow and his co travelers then? Certainly not one of the foundation members of the APC!

“It is also instructive and rather ironical that the likes of Chief Tom Ikimi, Fidelis Tilije and a host of others who accused Chief Okotie-Eboh of working for the PDP have since shamelessly crawled back to the same PDP for a pot of porridge.

“This Onokpasa fellow and his co travelers will soon do the same. These are all agents of PDP sent to destroy APC in Delta State by hijacking the party structure in the state. For us in the Okotie-Eboh faction, we shall not allow this to happen, no matter the cheap blackmail and shenanigans.

“These jokers came to meet us in APC and will certainly leave us in peace and go back to where they came from. We used our very viable and effective ACN political structure and machinery in Delta State to build APC in the state. We shall not allow these PDP agents of destruction and latter-day fair-weather APC members to change this enviable historical trajectory, even if it means achieving this through the instrumentality of the highest court in our land.”
