President Muhammadu Buhari will chair a meeting of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union during the 25th Summit of the Union holding in Pretoria, South Africa.

Presidential Spokesman, Femi Adesina disclosed this in a statement in which he gave an insight into Buhari’s itinerary in South Africa.

Adesina said that the president would hold bilateral talks with other African leaders on the sidelines of the summit “to consolidate his ongoing drive to secure Nigeria and neighbouring countries from Boko Haram.”

President Buhari arrived Pretoria yesterday morning for the summit, received on arrival by Nigerian Embassy officials led by the Acting High Commissioner, Mr Martin Kobhan.

He is scheduled to be hosted to a dinner by the South African President, Jacob Zuma this evening.

He is due back in Abuja on Tuesday at the conclusion of the summit which will focus mainly on continental peace and security.
