Naija New Dawn Show electrifies Awka

Hundreds of excited youths turned out to participate in the auditioning of the Naija New Dawn Show in Awka, Anambra State capital.

The show is the brainchild of Bob-Manuel Udokwu, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Creative Media to the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano.

It was designed to discover new talents in the areas of music, film-acting, modelling, and comedy.

The auditioning was presided over by: Uche Ndigwe, actor; Divine Ezike, model; Francis Ekpome, journalist; Adaeze Aduaka, model/ TV presenter; Rose Chinenye, classic lady in Anambra 2015; Chiedu Uche Okoye, civil servant and poet, among others.

Candidates were also shortlisted during the exercise which took place on stage on May 29, at Marble Arc Hotel, Awka, the state capital.

People defied the torrential rainfall to attend the event, which lasted into the wee hours of the morning. Chinaza Michael won the first prize in modelling, while Mariam Iwuchukwu was declared the winner in film-acting. The delightful and splendid performance of ‘Fresh Boy’ earned him the first prize in music. The Jurasik musical group came first in the musical group category.

The show was graced by eminent personalities in Anambra State. It was one in a series of programmes mapped out by the SSA Creative Media, Mr Udokwu. Talents discovered during the event are seeking openings in the entertainment industry.
