The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested suspected fraudsters and impersonators whom it described as notorious impostors operating in the city.
Parading the suspects, the Commissioner of Police, Wilson Inalegwu said some of the suspects were currently assisting his men in their investigations, promising that they would be arraigned in court after the investigations.
Police Public Relations Officer, Anjuguri J. Manzah, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said some of the suspects paraded included Tanko Gimba who specialised in issuing fake letters of appointments to unsuspecting members of the public.
“He had so far defrauded job applicants to the sum of five million naira with the promise of offering them employment in Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA),” he said.
Another suspect, according to the PPRO, Nnamdi Uwaezuoke impersonated the Comptroller-General of Immigration in his attempt to sign and collect approved land allocation document from FCDA Office.
Also Matthew Nkemakolam, a business centre operator was alleged to have conspired with a fake woman police to produce fake Identity cards for criminals.
