Suspected armed bandits on Monday abducted 5 people including a Director in Kanoma village in Maru local government area of Zamfara state.

Residents told Daily Trust that the armed men arrived at the community around 2am and broke into the residence of the director of nursing, working with the state ministry of health, and kidnapped him.

“They then kidnapped some members of the family of former deputy clerk of the House and then dashed into the forest. They also shot one person whose neighbour was also abducted.

“The armed men had earlier sounded warning to the residents of the community that no Fulani man coming in to the village for business should be touched and should that happen the residents of the community should prepare for the worst,” a resident named Ibrahim said.

The spokesman of the state police command, SP Muhammad Shehu, could not be reached for comment at the time of filing this report. (Daily Trust)
