Hausa community in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State has called on Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, to create an emirate for them in the council.
The community under the auspices Cibiyar Na-Tanko, a social cultural group, noted that Hausa people in Chikun like those in Kajuru, Sanga Kauru, Kagarko, Zangon Kataf and Lere deserved an emirate for peace and unity.
The chairman of the group, Alhaji Aminu Idris, Turakin Nasarawa and the Secretary, Yusuf Muhammad Yunus, urged the state government to make efforts towards the actualisation of the emirate for the Hausa community in Chikun.
“Our community will continue to request and demand that an emirate be created for Hausa people in Chikun Local Government Area as is the case in other local government Areas.
“We also wish to categorically state that our community and local government has never been part of Zone 3 (Southern Kaduna). That any attempt or effort being made by groups or political jobbers to drag Chikun into any alliance must stop as Chikun and Kajuru remains part of zone 2,” they said.
The group said that is what the law says that Chikun and Kajuru are part of Zone 2 and so shall it be.
The group further lauded the effort of the state governor Nasir El-Rufai for his untiring efforts in liberating marginalised communities within the state.
They also commended the Sole Administration of Chikun LGA, Hajiya Hadiza Ladi Yahuza, for her commitment to peaceful co-existence among the diverse communities in the local government Area.
Cibiyar Na-Tanko’s pivotal aim is the promotion and protection of the interest of Hausa Community in Chikun Local Government Area and those in Diaspora. (Daily Trust)
