After all the tough talk by both sides, it is time for the big clash between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Persian Stars of Iran as both countries begin their hunt for survival in Group F of the Brazil 2014 World Cup.
With Argentina as runaway favourites to top the group, the battle for the second ticket is between Nigeria, Iran and Bosnia Herzeovina, which lost 1-2 to Argentina in the group’s first match played in the wee hours of this morning.
Iran is ranked one place higher than Nigeria on FIFA’s latest list but that is not expected to matter since the African champions boast a better pedigree and bigger stars. Coach Stephen Keshi has handed the starting shirt in this battle of Curitiba to the following players:
Vincent Enyeama, Efe Ambrose, Juwon Oshaniwa, Godfrey Oboabona, Kenneth Omeruo, Ogenyi Onazi, Mike Obi, Ramon Azeez, Victor Moses, Ahmed Musa, Emmanuel Emenike.
