Expect cloudy weather today, with prospects of localised thunderstorms and rains — NiMET

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Friday, June 16, 2017:

NORTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy conditions are anticipated with prospects of localised thunderstorms expected over Kano, Katsina and Dutse in the morning hours. Later in the day, localised thunderstorms are not unlikely across the region especially over Dutse, Kano and Katsina. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 30 – 36℃ and 19 – 24℃ respectively.

CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy conditions are expected with chances of isolated thunderstorms over the Jos, Abuja, Kaduna, Jalingo and Mambila Plateau in the morning hours. Isolated thunderstorms are anticipated in the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 30 – 33℃ and 23 – 25℃respectively except Jos at 26/18℃.

SOUTHERN STATES: Morning cloudiness is expected over this region except the coastal cities where rains are expected. Later in the day, there are chances of localised thunderstorms over some cities like Port Harcourt, Owerri, Enugu, Umuahia, Calabar, Uyo, Eket, Obudu, Ikom, Warri, Asaba, Lagos, Ado, Akure, Ijebu-Ode, Benin and Yenagoa.

Day and night time temperatures are expected to be in the ranges of 30 – 34℃ and 20 – 25℃ respectively.
