Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has reacted to media reports that quoted him as saying President Muhammadu Buhari’s return to Nigeria may be hampered by a faulty aircraft.

“The Minister has not spoken to anyone on the issue of the President’s return, hence this report is another from the stable of the purveyors of fake news and should be disregarded,” his Special Assistant, Segun Adeyemi said in a statement on Sunday.

The Minister was quoted to have said that the President could not return to the country as scheduled because his Presidential jet was undergoing routine checks.

But contrary to that report,  which the Minister has disowned, Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media announced yesterday that Buhari could not return last night as scheduled because he was required by his doctors to stay back until he gets results for his medical tests.
