The Nigeria police on Tuesday again prevented members of the #BringBackOurGirls group from going ahead with their planned rally to the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Tuesday’s march was supposed to be one in a series of protests which began August 23 after Boko Haram released a video indicating the kidnapped Chibok girls were alive.
Today, the group had forced its way through a police cordon at the Three Arms Zone, as it sought a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
The BBOG protesters, who broke past the wall of anti-riot police officers ran in different directions eventually got to the entrance of the Presidential Villa, were they met a pro-Muhammadu Buhari group identified as ‘With Buhari We Stand’.
One Idris King, who spoke on behalf of the new group, said the “Chibok girls were only used as a scam.”
He said President Buhari’s administration was doing everything possible to rescue the Chibok girls alive.
