NiMET predicts morning thunderstorms, cloudy conditions and rainfall today

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about Nigerian weather condition for Sunday, June 5, 2016”

NORTHERN STATES: We anticipate a buildup of an overnight weather system over the North which would likely give morning thunderstorms to affect Potiskum, Damaturu, Nguru, Katsina, Kano, Zaria, Gusau, Sokoto and Yelwa axis. Day time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 36-39oC.

CENTRAL STATES: Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are projected for the region with chances of afternoon/evening localized thunderstorms to affect parts of Abuja, Makurdi, Lafia, Lokoja, Jos, and the Mambilla Plateau. Day time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 27-35oC.

SOUTHERN STATES: There are prospects of morning rainfall over Lagos, Ijebu- Ode, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Eket, Calabar, Owerri and Uyo. Localised thunderstorm is expected over the rest of the region later in the afternoon/evening period. Day time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 30-33oC.
