Nigeria had moved further down seven places in the December 2015 rankings released by FIFA. The Super Eagles now occupy the 66th position in the world, and 14th in Africa, going by the latest rankings released today.

As at November 2015, the former African champions were 59th in the world, as compared to the 52nd position occupied in October.

The final rankings of 2015 see Nigeria placed behind Cote d’Ivoire, Algeria, Ghana, Cape Verde Island, Tunisia, Senegal, Congo, Guinea, Egypt, Cameroon, Congo DR, Mali and Uganda.

Cote d’Ivoire retain their position as first in Africa, as Algeria and Ghana retain their position and second and third in Africa respectively.
