The Imo State Government has promised members of the Owerri new market spare parts dealers of conducive space at the proposed site for Mechanic Village at Avu, in Owerri West council area of the state.
Secretary to the Government of Imo State (SGI), Sir Jude Ejiogu, gave this promise when members of the market union paid him a courtesy visit in his office, along Sam Mbakwe Road, Owerri.
The SGI, touched by the appeal of the traders for business space at the new site, assured them that their request would be given attention, even as he told them that the proto-type of the shops would be released to them for development.
Sir Ejiogu further informed them that the state number one citizen, Governor Rochas Okorocha meant well for every Imo indigene, hence the relocation to its original place officially recognized in the master plan.
He also told them that the new site was designed in such a way that Banks, Eateries, Halls, Residential Houses and shops would be in place to reduce the rate of sufferings the users may encounter.
The SGI while pointing out that even when the dealers are asked to build their shops, the finishing would not exceed six months from the time space was allocated to individuals.
Earlier, President of the Union, Mr. Obinna Chinagorom, thanked the state government through the SGI for granting them audience despite his tight schedule, and further commended his elevation to Secretary to the Government of Imo State.
Adding his voice, Owerri Zonal Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC), Mr. Chris Oguoma, who was also in attendance, thanked the SGI for the support and further assured the traders of government’s corporation.
